Digital Pressurized Fluid Density Scale Model 118-70 research and development process


This product is mainly used as a special instrument for measuring the density of drilling fluid and other liquid substances.


Based on the principle of density measurement with digital display liquid densitometer and pressure densitometer, use pressure sensor to collect data, and the high-precision intelligent display controller processes and directly displays the density of liquid on the LCD. Its performance is stable and reliable with accurate and intuitive measurement, and has the function of sensor nonlinear compensation, which can provide a more accurate result for density measurement data. The test accuracy can reach ±0.001 g/cm3 and the test range is 0.001 ~ 10g/cm3. Before testing the drilling fluid, use pressurizer to pressure the materials cup, minimize the influence of measurement for drilling fluid density once it mixed air or other gases, so that the measured density is more accurate.


In addition, another highlight of this product is its appearance. The whole machine is made of metallic with blue transparent material, which is more modern and more in line with leading edge design trend. The operation interface is 35°tilted to have more suitable for man-machine use. The design of blue large window is more convenient for observation and operation. Use one-word damping shaft to avoid the cabin door falling during operation. The whole machine is composed of smooth curve and curved surface elements to makes the product more affinity. This instrument can be widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, laboratory, food and medicine industries.


R&D background: Aiming at the problems of low precision, narrow test range and low test accuracy of digital display densitometer in the market, we developed this product.


This project began to be developed in July 2019, mainly including appearance design, structural design and manufacturing, and the feasibility was verified by testing after all the production was completed. The following briefly describes the problems in the process of product research and development. 

(1) Appearance design

On the basis of absorbing the appearance modeling, buttons and materials of the original densitometer and some similar precision instruments, we puts forward three feasible schemes for the appearance design of the host, after discussed and modified on these, finally determines the existing design scheme, separating the digital display interface from the sample measurement.

 (2) Structural design and manufacturing

1) At first, the design material of the main engine was aluminum alloy and oxidation treatment process, but in the later manufacturing process, the bending welding process of aluminum alloy material was not ideal, and the color was uneven during welding oxidation, so the main engine material was finally changed to cold-rolled steel plate with surface painting treatment.

2) When the hinge at the acrylic door reaches the angle of the decorative strip, it will fall off. Finally, the one-word damping shaft can solve this problem.

3) For Loading and unloading of the DC power supply fixing plate, we make it easy to disassemble.

4) The installation position of the horizontal bubble must be kept in a horizontal position. Finally, the horizontal bubble can be placed on a fixed bracket to adjust its horizontal position.

5) For the processing of right cabin decorative strip and left cabin displayer decorative strip, considering the processing cost, processing difficulty and small batch, the machining method is selected.

6) For the three problems of company sign, handle laser carving and mask interface, considering sense of beauty, the final company sign is made of black matte aluminum, the handle laser carving is made of aluminum alloy and engraved with the company logo, the handle is fixed with the cabin door by fixing screws, the mask interface is made of black light, and the display screen is translucent and matte.
