The All-Vanadium Flow Battery Independently Developed by CNPC Was Used for the First Time in Yuebei 1 Well of Qinghai Oilfield
As of November 4, the Yuebei 1 Well light storage microgrid project of Qinghai Oilfield generated 29,300 KWH of electricity, realized all-weather "green electricity" supply of the well site, and became a zero-carbon well site demonstration site of the Plateau oilfield.
The oil and gas producing area of Qinghai Oilfield is located in the Qaidam Basin in the northeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with an average elevation of about 3000 meters. Most of the remote Wells in the scope of exploration and test production are remote, difficult to cover the power grid, and the cost of power supply is high. However, the oil field is unique in light resources, and the mineral rights area is in the most abundant light resources in the country.
Yuebei 1 well is located in the north of Gasikule oil area in Qaidam Basin, which is a remote well site without power grid coverage. Yuebei 1 Well light storage microgrid project is an important result of deep cooperation between Qinghai Oilfield and Engineering Materials Research Institute, which mainly uses the new energy technology of "photovoltaic + energy storage + DC bus microgrid".
The project adopts off-grid optical storage system, composed of photovoltaic, lithium iron phosphate energy storage and all-vanadium flow energy storage, which not only ensures the energy storage capacity and stability, but also improves the overall efficiency and safety of the system, meets the "green electricity" demand of the pumping unit throughout the day, greatly reduces the operating cost of a single well, and realizes zero carbon emissions. It is expected to generate 198,000 KWH of electricity annually and reduce 197.4 tons of carbon annually.
The off-grid optical storage system also introduces a number of new technologies and new modes. The all-vanadium flow battery independently developed by the Engineering Materials Research Institute has been applied for the first time in the production site of Qinghai oilfield with good results. As a new energy storage technology, all-vanadium flow battery realizes the conversion of electric energy and chemical energy through the REDOX reaction between electrolyte and battery stack, which has the advantages of high energy density, long cycle life, good safety, fast response speed and easy to realize large-scale energy storage. Compared with lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries, all-vanadium flow batteries are outstanding in long-term energy storage, large-capacity applications and safety.
At present, the daily power supply demand of Yubei 1 well is 360 KWH, the use of "6 hours photovoltaic +18 hours energy storage" power supply combination, the configuration of "100 kW photovoltaic +200 KWH lithium iron phosphate energy storage +120 KWH vanadium flow" off-grid light storage system, compared with the traditional power grid power supply construction cost, saving more than 300,000 yuan. At the same time, the system is expected to save 77,000 yuan in electricity bills every year.
