Petrochina Caofeidian Heating Project was Selected as an Industry Standard Application Demonstration Project
On September 17, at the 2023 World Geothermal Congress, the International Geothermal Association officially released the "Recommended Practices for geothermal Heating in China" industry standard. This is the first industry standard issued in the global geothermal field, which is of great significance to promote the standardization and standardized development of the geothermal industry and help the global green and low-carbon transformation.
Jidong Oilfield Caofeidian New Town geothermal heating project (referred to as Caofeidian heating project) as a typical case, has become one of the three industry standard application demonstration projects. The project's annual geothermal utilization amounts to 186,900 tons of standard coal and 485,900 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
In the process of development, Caofeidian heating project adheres to the principle of "heat extraction without water consumption", "fixed mining by irrigation and recharge in the same layer", and forms 18 technical sequences of 6 types of medium and deep geothermal heating with "non-pressure recharge technology of sandstone reservoir" as the core. This project has obtained the recharge technology certification issued by the National Energy Administration, and has become one of the leading geothermal development and utilization demonstration projects.
At present, petrochina has built a number of typical geothermal clean heating and cooling projects represented by Caofeidian heating project, and has developed a medium and shallow geothermal heating area of 25 million square meters by 2022.
