On January 25, after a year, the Dagang oilfield near Bohai Bay ushered in the 60th anniversary of exploration and development.

In the past 60 years, Dagang Oilfield has produced 210 million tons of crude oil and 27.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas for the country, and has given birth to North China, Bohai and Jidong oil fields. In this hot land, Dagang oilmen have created China's first offshore production well, the first offshore oil platform, the first artificial island, the first gas storage, and the first breakthrough in the industrial development of continental shale shale oil, making important contributions to the national economic and social development.

Dagang Oilfield, located in Binhai New Area of Tianjin, is the third oilfield independently developed by the People's Republic of China after Daqing and Shengli. On January 25, 1964, the Party Central Committee approved the report of the Party Group of the Ministry of Petroleum on the organization of the North China Oil Battle, and made it clear that "this is another important battle after the Songliao oil field battle."

At that time, Dagang oil field was a saline-alkali desert with few people, sunny wind and sand, and mud puddles everywhere after rain. Today, after the baptism of The Times, a high-rise, tree-lined oil city stands in front of us. By the end of 2023, 72,600 workers' residences have been built in Dagang Oilfield, especially the New city of Gangxi, which can accommodate 15,000 families. At present, the green rate of the built up area of Dagang Oilfield exceeds 22%, and the formation of four horizontal and eight vertical, convenient and smooth road network layout, so that the vast number of workers have a sense of gain, happiness and security.
