Xinjiang Fengcheng Oilfield Built the First Low-Cost Heavy Oil Internet of Things in China

On September 8, the reporter learned that after nearly three years of unremitting efforts, focusing on the construction goal of "comprehensive perception, automatic control, trend prediction, optimization and decision-making" low-cost heavy oil Internet of Things, the Fengcheng oilfield operation area of Xinjiang oilfield has developed supporting technologies such as automated instruments, equipment and communication networking suitable for heavy oil throughput development zones, and built the first low-cost heavy oil Internet of Things system in China.

"We have broken the solidified thinking of 'single well automation construction is only in a single well', and formed a low-cost and easy to implement heavy oil huff and dump well temperature intensive monitoring construction model, laying the foundation for high-quality development and digital upgrading of heavy oil huff and dump development zones." Fengcheng oilfield operation area deputy chief engineer, information management station (automatic central control station) said Lu Xing.

Heavy oil development is the main field in Fengcheng oilfield. As one of the main ways of heavy oil development, the whole process of steam injection, oil production, gathering, transportation and treatment is under high temperature and high pressure conditions, with many process links, high labor intensity, high safety risk and difficult management.

In the face of difficulties in the selection of general instruments for heavy oil iot construction, large amount of construction work, wiring construction difficulties, high construction cost, and long construction period, the heavy oil iot construction concept with key node control as the core was first proposed and established in the operation area, and gradually improved the iot construction scheme in heavy oil throughput area. The automation, communication and other supporting technologies applicable to the heavy oil throughput development zone are deeply studied, and the Internet of Things technology system for heavy oil production is constructed from three dimensions: production characteristics, ground process and architecture level.

The researchers adopted the technical route of "integrated digital electric control box + manifold non-invasive temperature acquisition + multi-way valve automatic well selection weighing and metering" for the Internet of Things construction in heavy oil huff and puff area, transferring the collection link of well steam injection temperature, pressure and produced liquid temperature to the manifold for integration, and realizing the standardization construction of heavy oil huff and puff Wells. It meets the requirements of the operation status information collection of pumping units and the remote measurement management of "one person and multiple stations", greatly reduces the instrument demand and project implementation workload, and solves the problem of the number of heavy oil Wells and the high cost of temperature acquisition of single Wells. Since the application of this technology, more than 60 million yuan has been saved.

At the same time, researchers use highly integrated "production - injection - transmission - processing" whole process working data, alarm limits according to three levels and five categories of management, to achieve the upstream and downstream production process of the oil field "online monitoring, real-time alarm, abnormal early warning", oil field production emergency events reduced by more than 30%.

Xinjiang oilfield has continuously accelerated the development of digital transformation, promoted the deep integration of modern information technology with oilfield production and operation, and made continuous efforts in the construction of Internet of Things and data application, giving full play to the supporting role of "digital transformation to drive high-quality development of oil and gas industry". Completed the "Xinjiang Oilfield Digital Transformation and Intelligent Development Pilot Implementation Plan" and passed the review. At the same time, the transformation scenario construction of nine business areas such as oil and gas exploration was started, the production command center system was put into operation, more than 30 sets of professional system data were integrated, ten application scenarios were built, and 1,200 production indicators, 30,000 Wells and 2,000 stations were fully controlled from the horizontal to the edge and vertical to the end. The production organization mode of "big production and big operation" is constructed.
