On October 5, Bohai Drilling Company No. 4 came good news from Yulin, Shaanxi Province. After 177.17 days of hard work, the company's BH50404 drilling team successfully completed the first pilot test well of Shaanxi Coal CCS Project, the largest in China, and broke many records such as the longest closed coring in China.

As a pilot test well and a regional exploration well, Yulong 1 well has many technical difficulties, such as low formation recognition, well trajectory control and continuous coring of ultra-long well sections. During construction, the company always follows the "safety + technology" acceleration mode, runs the safety production requirements through all aspects of production, highlights the key technology, selects technical personnel, focuses on the key links, accurately evaluates the formation changes, reasonably matches the drill assembly, monitors the downhole dynamics in real time, adjusts the mud performance in time according to the formation changes, and guides the implementation of technical measures. Ensure well quality and efficiency.

In Yucong 1 well, 30 cores were taken in the second and 104 cores in the third, with a total core footage of 2056.47 meters, a total core length of 2023 meters, and a total harvest rate of 98.37%, which set many records in the northeast margin of Ordos Basin, such as the longest continuous core footage, the most core-taking times in a single well, the shortest core-taking time, and the highest core harvest rate. According to the design requirements, the closed coring operation was carried out from Yanchang Group to Taiyuan Group. The closed coring footage was 884.58 meters, the core length was 866.17 meters, and the coring yield was 97.92%, which set a new record for the longest closed coring in China.
