The Problem of Double-Casing Window Sidetracking Has been Solved in Jidong Oilfield

In mid-October, the first double-layer casing side drilling well Gao 56-46 side Ping 1 was successfully completed in Jidong Oilfield, marking a new breakthrough in sidetracking construction technology.

Double casing window opening is a window sidetracking process when there are two layers of casing at the window opening point. Affected by uncertain factors such as the size, wall thickness, steel grade strength and the spacing between the two layers of casing, the technical difficulty and risk of double-layer casing window opening and subsequent drilling are much higher than that of ordinary single-layer casing window opening construction, and the whole well will be abandoned if the slightest mistake is made. Therefore, sidetracking with double casing window is always the difficulty in sidetracking construction.

In order to overcome this technical problem, Jidong Oilfield set up a project team, selected technical personnel and construction teams, actively carried out technical research, and gradually found out the construction difficulties of double-casing window sidetracking and technical quality control measures. During the construction, the technical staff of the project team stayed in the well to guide the construction, strictly implemented the established plan, regularly monitored the mud performance, carefully recorded the weight on bit, pump pressure, displacement and returned materials, and successfully completed the window opening and window repair construction. In the subsequent drilling, well opening and cementing process, there is no resistance display in the drilling tool access window of this well, which indicates that the double-casing window sidetracking operation meets the construction design requirements.
