The First CO2 Huff and Puff Test Area in Daqing Oilfield

On November 6, Daqing Oilfield completed the field construction of all 17 oil Wells in the pilot area for overall treatment of low-yield and low-efficiency blocks of carbon dioxide hustling technology, which is expected to increase oil by more than 2,500 tons during the effective period.

Carbon dioxide huff and huff technology is a stimulation technology that injects liquid carbon dioxide into the reservoir under certain pressure to make it miscible with the formation crude oil, reduce the viscosity of the crude oil, solve the formation blockage problem, and use the expansion of carbon dioxide to supplement the formation energy, so as to improve the oil recovery.

Block 70-122 of this test is a typical low-yield and low-efficiency block in the periphery of Daqing. Due to poor reservoir development, poor connectivity, difficult formation energy replenishment and high proportion of under-injection Wells, the average formation pressure has decreased significantly since production. Due to the high wax content and viscosity of crude oil, the formation plugging phenomenon in the block is serious, and the proportion of plugged Wells is high. The treatment of Tai-70-122 block must be based on both replenishing the formation energy and solving the formation blockage problem, which is the advantage of CO2 hustling technology. In the test, according to the differences in reservoir porosity and permeability of the test Wells, the researchers prepared a personalized construction plan for each well, and simultaneously adopted supporting adjustment measures such as acidification and negative pressure plugging to ensure the test effect.
