The Integrated Technology of the Eastern Geophysical Exploration Institute Helps Increase Shale Gas Production Capacity

On January 26, the reporter learned from the Geological Research Center of the Eastern Geophysical Exploration Institute that the Eastern Geophysical Exploration Company gave full play to the advantages of integrated technology and created an integrated technical support plan for the "four good" seismic geological engineering for shale gas, realized the application of earthquake in the full life cycle of "geological + engineering" production capacity construction, improved the production capacity of shale gas single well, and realized the beneficial development.

The integrated technology of seismic geological engineering sprouted in the shale gas seismic business in southern Sichuan during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, continued to develop in the basic research and field practice of the "13th Five-Year Plan", and continued to expand in the comprehensive development of unconventional business in the "14th Five-Year Plan", formed the dessert evaluation method, developed and promoted the seismic geological guidance software, developed the fracture modeling technology, and declared the Group's scientific research topics.

The Zhejiang Research Branch of the Geological Research Center has supported the implementation of the shale gas exploration and development program and comprehensively promoted the exploration and development of shale gas by using the integrated technology of seismic geological engineering. According to the "selected areas", applying the technology of dessert prediction and comprehensive evaluation, the area of shale gas Class I dessert in Zhejiang exploration area is nearly 2000 square kilometers. Aiming at "well positioning", efficient horizontal well deployment technology was used to optimize the deployment of more than 800 shale gas horizontal Wells in Zhaotong and Da 'an blocks. Aiming at "well drilling", the drilling rate of horizontal well casing is kept above 90% by using seismic geological guidance technology and guiding the target point by point. Through static and dynamic adjustment, shale gas production capacity construction and benefit development are effectively promoted.

Seismic engineering integration is an important method for shale gas exploration, evaluation and development, and also an important way for geophysical exploration to participate in oil field development and reservoir evaluation. Since 2023, the Geological Research Center of the Institute has set up a special technical research group in order to accelerate the development of integrated seismic and geological engineering technologies, further defining the series of integrated seismic and geological engineering technologies for unconventional oil and gas reservoirs as exploration and innovation technologies, and continuously increasing research efforts.

According to experts, the development direction of seismic geological engineering integration technology is the extension of earthquake to the engineering field. In the past two years, the research and development and application of horizontal well seismic geological guidance have further deepened and expanded the integration technology, deepened the evaluation of shale reservoir heterogeneity, and improved the prediction accuracy of reservoir parameters.

In addition, the integrated technology continues to expand the extension of seismic to the field of fracturing engineering, and the initial formation of horizontal well fracturing seismic support technology. Up to now, the Geological Research Center has applied the integrated technology of seismic geological engineering to provide technical support for horizontal well fracturing earthquake, and has carried out pre-pressure design support for 30 Wells in 8 platforms, initially realizing the extension of seismic research results to fracturing engineering, and providing more powerful technical support for increasing shale gas storage and production.
