The model HTD15811 capillary suction timer is used for studying the filtration

characteristics of aqueous systems by utilizing the capillary suction pressure of a porous paper to

affect filtration.

It consists of a housing, digital timer, test mainframe with funnel (clamshell-type), filter

paper, circuit board, power adapter and battery box.

The device adopts a low shale hydration effect, low colloidal dispersion and low shale

activity and can be used in many fields. With a simple design and LCD, it is easy to operate and

easy to read while the reading accuracy is high.

The capillary suction timer measures the time taken by the serous fluid formulated with

different test solution and shale powder to permeate a specific filter paper to a certain degree,

which is called CST value. The value is affected by the nature of liquid and dispersity of colloid

and it can be used to judge the colloidal dispersion degree of clay shale in water.
